Wrap it Up!
Baby gift baskets are a great gift for an
expected or new baby. There are two ways to do your gift
basket -- order one from a local or online business or make
one yourself. We'll list a few gift baskets businesses at
the end of this article in case you'd like to order. If you
decide to do the basket yourself, it really can be a lot of
fun. Be careful, however, because it is very easy to get
carried away and spend far more money than you originally
wanted.
First you need a container for your baby items. There are
many options here depending on your price range. If you are trying to keep
your cost small, it's pretty easy to find an inexpensive basket. There are
several well-known store chains that carry baskets year round. They are
often on sale right before Christmas or Easter. If you can afford to go a
little higher try buying a container parents can actually use to put your
baby items in like a baby bathtub or storage basket with a liner that Mom or
Dad can use to store diapers. Make sure you don't get a container too big --
you'll have to fill it and that can get costly.
Next you'll need to select your items to put in your
container. You'll need some larger items to place toward the back of your
container and then some medium and smaller items to use for the front.
Diapers, wipes and blankets rolled up and tied with a ribbon are some items
you can use for the back of the basket. When you place these items you want
to make sure they are sticking up higher than anything else in the basket,
otherwise you won't be able to see them.
Other items you may want to use are baby toys, a picture
frame, baby book (story book for baby), pacifiers, baby gowns, onesies or
sleepers. Some less expensive items are baby bath, lotion, and shampoo.
Diaper rash cream is also an option too. There's also fingernail clippers,
baby thermometer, bibs and baby Tylenol to name a few more. It's nice to try
to stick with items that are practical and you know they'll use no matter
what.
Arrange your items in the
container the way you want. At that point you can either
leave your basket the way it is or you can buy shrink wrap
or clear paper to wrap your basket. Then you can tie it all
up at the top for a finishing touch.
Baby gift baskets make
wonderful gifts for both parents and baby. You can even have
some fun picking out items for your container. Just make
sure you stay within your budget. Good luck!
