Chai
TeaNOTE: This information is for educational purposes only it is NOT meant as a substitution for medical advice. Please consult your primary care physician. I love chai. I drink it every day, at least once. Sometimes twice. There's something in chai that makes me happy. I don't know what it is, but I like it. There are benefits to drinking chai, which until recently, I was unaware of. If you are looking for a reason to start drinking chai, then read on. We'll give you several reasons why you should at least try my favorite drink. The basic ingredients in chai are tea leaves, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, pepper, cardamom, and nutmeg.
Black tea has some of the most powerful antioxidants that science knows. Both tea and chai can help prevent cancer, lower cholesterol, and lower blood pressure, and can delay symptoms of Alzheimer's Disease.
Cinnamon is a stimulant that is supposed to
help the other herbs work faster. Cloves are used during the cold and flu season. It is believed to invigorate and restore the body. Cardamom is supposed to stimulate the mind and give clarity. Nutmeg can help lower blood pressure and soothe a stomach ache as well as stop diarrhea and help to detoxify the body. Pepper provides warmth. I get my chai latte from Starbucks. It is my FAVORITE drink and this is how I order it: Venti iced chai latte with soy milk, very very light ice If you like anything like gingerbread or pumpkin-flavored foods, you'd like chai. It has a very distinct flavor all it's own, but it's along the lines of spice tea and pumpkin bread.
In general chai is the all-around feel-good
beverage (in my opinion). Chai is supposed to boost the immune system and
aid in many functions our body needs to perform every day. Drink up!
